Do You Need a Break?

Relaxation | Break

Do you need a break? I do.

With all the challenges I’ve faced and continue to face this year, I’m finding I don’t have the juice to write.  I could force myself to write, but the words wouldn’t be coming from my soul right now. Not that they always must, but I want them to, at least a good part of the time.

This year seems to be challenging many people.  According to one system of astrology, Saturn governs the year from March to March.

Saturn is known as the teacher, taskmaster, and lesson-giver, especially life lessons that result from past karma. Saturn doesn’t make things easy.  It confronts you with your patterns.  While that might be good on the long run, on the short run you might want to run away.

If your life has been rocky too, you might want to consider how you’re relating to the lessons that Saturn may be unceremoniously shoving in your face.

  • Are you shrinking from them?
  • Are you opening to them?
  • Are you being true to yourself?
  • Are you giving yourself extra care?
  • Do you need a break?

I know I need to care for and strengthen myself because I tend to be fragile and shatter easily.  However, I also bounce back, so don’t worry about me.  In the coming months, I especially want to see how I can become more resilient.

In terms of writing for you on Always Well Within, I’ll wait for my muse to return instead of pushing myself.  I want to write an in-depth article on emotional survival patterns, but I don’t know when.

I’ll still write and send out my monthly e-letter, Wild Arisings, at the New Moon. If you want to stay in touch, sign up here.  You’ll also receive access to the Always Well Within Library of free self-discovery resources — ebooks, mini-guides, and worksheets.

Here’s a list of some of the best posts from the last 12 months, in case you need extra support while I take a break.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.  Ironically, once I let go of any pressure to write, I often receive a deluge of inspiration.  Space and creativity strongly interlink in my life.  We’ll see how it goes this time.

Do you need a break?  Are you ready to take one or is something holding you back?

Thank you for your presence, I know your time is precious!  Don’t forget to sign up for my e-letter and get access to all the free self-development resources (e-books, mini-guides + worksheets) in the Always Well Within Library. May you be happy, well, and safe – always.  With love, Sandra

  1. I have been confronting the past and lessons to learn….lots of rest, journal writing, meditation etc….and I am starting to write again…slowly and allowing it to come as the muse strikes….take a break as needed and rest my friend!

    • Thank you for your love, support, and encouragement, Donna. I’m inspired to hear how well you are taking yourself as you process the past and lessons to be learned. All my love to you!

  2. As you might remember, I took a several month break in 2013 from my first blog. I tried to come back, but I was tired of words, so it turned into a two year break! Now, with my new blog, I write when I want to. I try to stay detached from expectations (mine or anyone else’s).

Saturn is my governing planet, so my whole life has felt like what you described–ha!

    • Oh my goodness, Galen, I can’t imagine having Saturn as my governing planet. How to you manage? That could make a helpful blog post although it’s not the focus of your blog right now.

What courage to take such a long break from your blog. I’m glad you found a new rhythm that works for you. It seems like you post quite often now!

      • Well, I haven’t always managed very well, that’s for sure! I never knew that description of Saturn, but it makes perfect sense to me. In my early twenties, an astrologer told me that this lifetime would be very intense. She said that I would work through many lifetimes of karma in this one lifetime. She added that the power of this lifetime would either tear me apart, or, if I could harness the power, liberate me. I had not thought about that for a long time until I read your description of Saturn. Interesting to be looking back over my life from that perspective.

        Enjoy your break!!

        • Very interesting, Galen. It sounds like you’re on the path to liberation, but I’m sure it’s felt like you’ve been torn apart many times. It’s a very intense time for me now so I’m definitely feeling the term apart aspect of Saturn. Fortunately, I have so much more perspective than I ever have had and I’m definitely learning what I need to learn. Yes, I’m sure it’s interesting to look back at your life from this perspective.

  3. I am so glad you are listening to your body and spirit, Sandra, and taking a much-deserved and needed break! Your cat care routine is quite exhausting, even though it is love-based—–still, added to the other things in life, it is exhausting in so many ways. Enjoy resting and healing <3 Much love to you!

    • Thank you for your love, support, and kindness, Jean. The good news is that the cat seems to have taken a turn for the better, is out of crisis and into healing mode, and hopefully he will continue in this direction. Much love to you!

  4. Enjoy your much-needed and deserved break! I know that feeling, and look forward to a break myself sometime this summer. I’ve been wrestling with a redesign of my blog which is almost ready for roll out (this week if all goes well). While you’re recharging, I’ll get caught up on your posts and enjoy your newsletter, which I just signed up for recently. Hope you find just what you need to relax, heal, and feel inspired again.

    • Thank you, Kathy. I look forward to seeing your new blog design! Thanks for your enthusiasm and support. I appreciate it so much. I’m already feeling inspired again.
